Weekly Journal Entries

(ACTS/IISME)

You are responsible for a minimum of two journal entries each week, due by 5pm each Friday. These reflections should be 1-2 pages in length and address 1) CONTENT and 2) EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS.

  1. CONTENT ENTRY: This entry is your reflection on science, mathematics, and/or engineering content that you learned or are working on during the week. This may be something you learned as part of your research project, from meetings with your research group, or from one of the summer lecture series or other talks at the Lab that week.
  2. EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS ENTRY: This entry is your reflection on the educational implications of what you have learned or done that week. This may include work that you have done for your CTS (Curriculum Topic Study) on a particular topic and how students learn it; reflections on readings you have completed for CTS; a response to something that shared at a TLC; methods you are considering to assess student learning; analysis of your own student data or work; plans you are considering as part of your PDP or ETP i.e. reflections on your professional development needs, instructional and leadership goals and objectives, or modification of a PDP to better meet student needs.
