Welcome!
Preparing for Your Visit
- Email BLAZES Visit Agreement Form to BLAZES@lbl.gov, at least 3 business days prior to scheduled visit
- Review BLAZES Information Packet
- Email list of adult visitors in group to BLAZES@lbl.gov at least 3 business days prior to visit date
- Turn in necessary paperwork to principal/district
- Acquire a substitute if applicable
- Recruit at least one adult to accompany each eight students
- Be sure students know times of the visit and pickup and drop off locations
- Arrange for lunches for students if applicable
- Obtain signed photo release forms for all participants
NOTE: Photos/videos may be taken of the visit
Berkeley Lab Security Regulations
- All adult names (18 and older) must be sent to BLAZES@lbl.gov at least 3 business days prior to your visit date.
- All adults must bring a photo ID
Day of Visit
- Everyone must have closed-toe shoes and clothing that covers from the waist to the ankles. No one should have bare skin on legs, ankles or feet
- Be sure that all adults in your group have photo ID
- Be sure students have lunches
- Visitor Roster of all visitors on site at the Lab to be given to CSEE staff upon arrival
- If your group has drivers, make sure they have directions
- Call CSEE main office 510.486.5511 if you encounter problems getting to the Lab
After Your Visit
- Administer the short quiz from BLAZES Information Packet
- Complete BLAZES Student Evaluation
We encourage teachers to:
- Complete evaluation in school as a computer lab activity
- Assign as a homework assignment with parents allowing student to share the experience with a parent / guardian
- Follow up with a visit to the library, students can complete surveys online and explore concepts further through science books
- Complete BLAZES Teacher/Chaperon Evaluation
