Preparing for your visit

Complete LBNL “Site Visit Request” form

Complete necessary school and district paperwork

  • Notify school administration
  • Inform target student audience
  • Inform attendees’ parents
  • Obtain signed photo release forms for all participants

NOTE:  Photos/videos may be taken of the visit

Safety requirements

  • Goggles, gloves and appropriate safety wear will be provided by Berkeley Lab
  • Students and adults must wear closed-toe shoes for all of our visits
  • If liquid Nitrogen is part of the program, everyone must have closed-toe shoes and must have clothing that covers from the waist to the ankles.  This means shoes must come up to the ankle (like athletic shoes), all must have exposed bare skin on legs, ankles or feet
  • One adult must be present for entire 2 hour period

Day of visit

Be sure to provide:

  • Set up time of 15-30 minutes
  • Access to water and multiple electrical outlets
  • Name tags for students and adults
  • Information about any student who should not be photographed 
  • Information about where Lab staff should park
