Ergonomics Training
EHS 0059/0058
All Computing Sciences employees are required to take EHS 0059, Ergo Self-Assessment for Computer Users (Remedy Interactive). This web-based training is hosted offsite by Remedy Interactive (OES). It takes about 40 minutes to complete and can be done in multiple sessions. If you are interrupted during your session, the training will automatically save your responses for completion at a later time.
First-time users must request a password from Remedy Interactive before logging in for the first time. You must enter your LBNL email address in the Remedy log-in page; a temporary password will be emailed to you. If you do not have an LBNL email address, or if you do not receive the Remedy password right away, contact Ergo@lbl.gov for assistance.
The Ergo Self-Assessment training must be repeated annually, when employees move to a new office, and when they have new ergonomic equipment. The refresher training is a condensed version of the initial training, and may be completed in less time in most cases. Log-in is done from the same page as the initial training, but the course number assigned for the refresher training is EHS 0058.
EHS 0062
In addition to EHS 0059, which is designed to assess computer workstation ergonomics, employees may also be required to take EHS 0062, WorkSmart Ergonomics. This course is designed for employees who routinely (more than twice a week) lift objects that weigh more than 20 pounds. Employees who occasionally lift bulky or heavy objects or frequently work in awkward positions are also encouraged to attend this class.
