The Berkeley Lab Institute (BLI) announces a new management and leadership development series that is available to Laboratory employees through the Institute for Management Studies (IMS). IMS seminars feature top faculty and innovative workshops presented in one day formats to provide maximum learning with minimum time investment. The University of California is a member of IMS and therefore Laboratory employees are able to participate for a reduced rate of $325 per workshop. Sessions are held in San Francisco once or twice a month at the Carnelian Room / Bankers Club at 555 California Street, Bank of America Center, 52nd Floor.
Click here to learn about the workshop offerings and to register online or by phone. Each workshop description includes an outline of the session content, bio information on the instructor, and identifies the best target participants for that session (e.g. middle managers, managers, and/or executives, and from what disciplines and functions).
Registration for IMS sessions is limited to sponsoring organizations. The University of California is the sponsoring organization for Lab participation. When registering online, select University of California on the scroll-down menu.
If you have any questions about a particular program or attendance, contact IMS representative for the San Francisco region, Ginny Von der Schmidt, at 925-736-8059.

The series is divided into three parts currently offered in fall, winter and spring with each part focusing on a different key area of supervision. Ideally a supervisor would take the complete three-part series for an in-depth look at supervision. However, each part is designed to stand alone as is each one-day session. This allows you the flexibility to enroll in the complete series, take just one part or select the individual sessions that are most relevant to your needs.
